Geomorphic Reclamation using Natural Regrade
Successful reclamation of the Log Creek Church Site 900 in Pike County of southern Indiana. Carlson’s Natural Regrade was used to reclaim highwall.

Action:

The Indiana AML group tested and utilized Autodesk and Carlson Mining products in the reclamation design of a dangerous highwall.  Carlson’s Natural Regrade was evaluated for cost savings compared to conventional reclamation design methods.

Results:

This new method of design saved Indiana AML $34,000 on its first use in reclamation and a more natural landscape was accomplished, requiring less long term maintenance and overall cost to the Indiana AML program.
