TOPIC: Budget and purchasing close out
DISCUSSION: Steve Trujillo – close out of budget, closing out this week.  Already contacted TIPS Team members about TA’s and requisitions.  All the small items do add up.  If a requisition or TA is not completed by Friday, the money will be pulled.
Len - is the budget on the Sharepoint sight current?  Steve will replace what is on the web-site to the current budget.  Remind Bill Card about his stuff. 

FBMS got pushed back per Bruce Swartz… will not affect the end of the year stuff

TOPIC: Software Distribution
DISCUSSION:  Galena 4.02.04(new version out) available as a patch on the download site.  Plan to distribute via CD soon.  Arc GIS 9.2 will be out by Oct or Nov.  Cad Team – Autodesk Map 2007 will be out soon.  Hydrology software – Eric / AquaChem remains a huge mess, version 4 is being used right now, version 5 is out now (licensing problem and will not work on the TIPS network) Mary had received a quote from the distributor regarding this new version.  They want to sell us stand alone licenses but that will be a huge cost.  Still up in the air about how we will handle this.  Acquire one or more Geochemist workbench, limited use, but would like to have a couple of copies available for check out (not part of the distribution) GMS is ready to go.  AMDTreat is available by download right now.  EarthVision – nothing yet (Mike Dunn) anticipating one ANY DAY NOW.  Cathy asked are Galena, AMDTreat, and GMS on the hard drive that Daniel Lewis has.  AMDTreat has been tested and out and about and ready to go.  GMS we distribute.  Mary can get the copy of the GMS CD.  Cathy will get the CD from Tom Galya or Mary Greene.  Galena is new on the distribution site.

TOPIC: Training Schedule
DISCUSSION: Karyn distributed the schedule yesterday, there are a couple of errors.  Please bring those to Karyn’s attention.  Back to Back classes in MCR will be fixed.  If instructors are not available then they need to get with Karyn.   August 15th Course managers conference calls to discuss the classes.  Bill Winters (Susan Stoyek) – Training coordinators would like to see a copy, and should be sent to them.  Lou reminded us that we are having meetings closer to the where the students are. Cathy wanted the schedule as well in case of vacations or trainings.  More classes have been added to Denver.

TOPIC: TIPS Team Meeting assignments
IT Strategies :  (Lou needs to talk to Daniel Lewis’ supervisor) Strawman talking paper will be a draft of idea.  Preliminary items have been discussed with Headquarters.

Installation/Distribution -
Mary has given input to Cathy on what she has done in the past.  Cathy met on Tuesday about what has done in the past and what will need to be done in the future.  Software should be distributed as soon as it is available by CD’s not as a batch.

Team Functionality – Team Meeting July 17th for next year’s meeting (tentatively)

Karyn – has not started working on this…

Elevate TIPS duties to Performance Plans or Position Descriptions. Lou and Bill are discussing with Al Klein

Regional communications – AR needs to get a person to us.

Lou has seen the TIPS instructors shirts.  Those are almost available (more embroidery is going to be done)

OSM Annual report accomplishments will need to be sent to Karyn.

 Karyn is the lead for the green book  which is due at the end of November – for 08.    

Lori Windle has taken the pictures at the Data Stewards meeting and will post them to the SharePoint website. 

Anything nationally should be placed on SharePoint instead of on the I drive.     

AutoCad and ServCad problems with software licenses.  Need to discuss this with the vendor about  installing this for a temporary training license. 

GeoFluv – entered into discussion with the vendor, obtained temporary training licenses (for the period of the class)

Mobile Computing Team Meeting yesterday – discussed the blog and will discuss with Veronika.  Should launch the mobile computing soon.

Mike Dunn – established a coal mining team, Alan Wilhelm and Larry Evans will be 09/21 & 09/22.  Developing the standards for the Geospatial data standards working with SMCRA
